Everybody wants to be like Wii
Looks like Peter Moore's homage to the Wii has started the wheels of speculation in motion. Our comrades over at 360 Fanboy are considering the possibilities for Microsoft outside of the realm of casual games. Moore did make the point about the Wii being about an experience, after all, so the idea that Microsoft might go the motion route isn't too far-fetched. And it's not like Microsoft never "borrowed" anything before (wink, wink). But like many, we're uncertain that we'll see motion-sensitive controls on the 360. Likely, Microsoft will try something entirely new, but the possibilities there are so widespread that we're not even sure how to start. Let's just hope any extras are cheaper than some we've seen in the past.
We know many of you are proudly sporting the Wii60 badge, so we wanted to ask you what you thought. Can anyone do what the Wii does, and should anyone even try?

Microsoft implementing motion controls = bad idea
Add-ons DO NOT WORK, and that's the one thing microsoft doesn't seem to get about this generation, if you want a feature to be used in a broad degree, you must include it in the box
360 got almost everything right, but when it comes to peripherals, its the worst of the lot

The 360 should NOT try to be anything more than it current is. Expand the games, not the periphs. The Wii has the advantage because all owners get motion-sensitive remotes. Any add-on for the 360 would have to be purchased and would be under-supported.
I love the Wii60 combo, but I don't want my 360 to put on any kind of Wii-mask. It would just be a failure anyway.
What I find more likely than a Wii-like add-on is XBOX720's release in or around Fall of 2009. It'll be somewhere around a PS3 in power, have Wii-like functions, and retail at $299, which will be cheaper than the PS3 goes for at the time.

They are good peripherals, yes, but some of those peripherals (like WiFi) should be part of the console proper, and that steering wheel is scandalously priced, as are all the peripherals
Thats why i say they're the worst, they're good products (except the headsets), but that pricing is unacceptable
And the Guitar Hero peripheral works because its been made very specifically for Guitar Hero, its as successful as the DDR mat, different from add-ons like EyeToy, or the GC Microphone, that tried to gain mainstream appeal, but failed

$299 my ass it would probably be about $399 for the core package but that does sound like something such as that could happen

Yes Mr. Khan, "ADD ONS DO NOT WORK." Such as the PS1 contoller that added analog and rumble two years after PS1 was released. LOL
I wouldn't mind that kind of change. The question is would we want a PS3 rip off or a Wii type contoller, uh rip off.
I would like the Wii rip off w/a Wii Sports rip off game to go w/it. Not something for playing all the time but something to break out when nongamer friends and family show up. I could spend $79 extra dollars instead of $249 extra dollars like Wii60 owners did, lol.
That would be a evil, perfect, and FANTASTIC way to get casual gamers to the 360. Waaaahaaaaahaaa!
