Jack Thompson at it again, wants Manhunt 2 pulled from UK
According to online reports, Jack Thomspon allegedly made a post on a Manhunt forum (we're unsure as to which forum) where he once again called Rockstar Games into question and implicated the original Manhunt as being responsible for the murder of one Stefan Pakeerah, who was murdered in the UK in 2004 by supposed friend Warren LeBlanc. The police, however, could not find sufficient evidence linking the game to the murder. We've included this entire post, which Thompson allegedly made in the forum, after the post break.

"Miami attorney and anti-violent video game activist Jack Thompson has been asked by individuals in the United Kingdom to help stop the distribution of Take-Two / Rockstar's hyperviolent video game Manhunt 2 in that country due out this summer. The game will feature stealth murder and torture. The last version allowed suffocation of victims with plastic bags.
The original Manhunt was responsible for the bludgeoning death of a British youth by his friend who obsessively played the game. The killer used a hammer just as in the game he played. Take-Two / Rockstar, anticipating the firestorm of criticism with the release of the murder simulator sequel, is lying to the public on both sides of the pond in stating this week that the game had nothing to do with the murder.
Take-Two is also stating that the sun does not rise in the east because Take-Two makes no money from its rising in the east. Take-Two has been repeatedly found in the U.S. by the federal government to be guilty of fraud, so what would one expect it to say.
Jack Thompson has agreed to this request from the U.K. Look for this effort to begin shortly given the summer of 2007 release date."
It sure sounds like something Jack Thompson would do ...

We dont need jack thompson to tell us/parents/govt what should be censored. The ESRB is there for a reason. Slap a AO or an M on it and STFU. Let the people make their own decisions.

It's stupid, it was the kid who got killed owned Manhunt, the one who killed him never played it. The media twisted that story so much.

Jack Thompson is an American
This makes no sense
but, i suppose there are no barriers when one is so committed to such an effort

Yeah, I was tempted to call it fake too, but that really sounds like Jack Thompson (Speaking oddly in the 3rd person of course.)
Judge: "Attorney Jack Thompson is awarded no points and may god have mercy on his soul."
Jack Thomspon: "Jack is getting upset!"

noooooo, us britons are just the right sheepish, drivel swallowing idiots to eat every word he says and take it as gospel. If this is true and it starts to get to the point where he is getting a following, im gonna be starting a protest group.

This guy seriously needs a brain transplant. I mean, he tried to sue over MK:Armageddon because you could make a character that looked like him in kreate-a-fighter mode. What a dumbass.

Now here's where i'm confused.
Jack is a lawyer.
Jack is an american lawyer.
Jack obviously graduated law school, learning all about American laws, including the constitution and the freedoms it provides.
So at what point did he miss the freedom of speech/press? as well as pretty much all forms of art being protected. except nudity, according to all american laws, the human body is a shameful thing and should never be exposed unless you pay for it.
But then again, we do live in the day where anyone will sue and everyone is liable for any sort of mishap at any time..... but what did video games ever do to Jack?

@11:
My bet was that mommy and daddy wouldn't buy little Jackie an NES for Christmas. I think they got a Nintendo box and filled it with underoos.

Jack Thompson:
A) Has no right to take action in the UK and should he try will find himself in danger
B) Is likely to be dis-embarred soon anyway
