Spidey 3 producer talks controls for Wii
Treyarch's last outing with your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man provided a great fan service in digitally recreating Manhatten and letting players swing about the city to their heart's content. The other stuff ... well, nobody really cared that much. Treyarch looks to recreate the fun of swinging about the city, but also provide more value to the gamer this time around. In speaking with IGN, they talked about the game across all platforms, providing a small glimpse into how it will control on the Wii.Executive Producer Chris Archer reveals "The Wii controller, we literally use it to swing. Both hands. You're using it to swing and do web attacks and hand-to-hand combat and things like that. It seems really cool." Wow, that actually sounds like a lot of fun, wouldn't you say? Before, in Spider-Man 2, the web-slinging felt so good, maybe it'll even be more immersive and fun this time around. What say you all?

I hope it's not too complicating. Web slinging was hard enough to get used to when all we had to do was press buttons. I just hope they keep us in mind and actually test the conrols. I'd hate for them to release controls that 'sound' like they would be good for the game.
Normally I'm a bit more optimistic, but this is my favorite super hero we're talking about here, and I don't want to have to skip with Wii outing for the 360. I would like to see my favorite Super Hero and my favorite current gen console live hand in hand.

It sounds fun if you can swing your arms to do punches and such. Mabey they'll make it so you press B to shoot the web then (jut) the controller foreward to swing on it. I don't know, but I hope the controls turn out to work well being fun too.

Great. So the same people who threw wiimotes at the screen are going to staple gun their nunchucks to the ceiling and complain when they fall on their butt while swinging through New York.

sounds stoopid

To be honest, I hope they did what EA did for NFS Carbon on the Wii. Have multiple control schemes.
Dont get me wrong, I love the Wii, but some games (more specifically, this one) would get physically exhausting after a while, and I dont want to get the game for PS2 instead.
I hope they either do multiple control schemes, or even better have two control schemes. One for the Wii Remote and Nunchuck, and one for the Classic/Gamecube Controllers.
As a matter of fact, I think more Wii games could benefit from having the choice between using the Classic/Gamecube Controllers or using Wii Remotes and Nunchucks.
But to each his own right?

When you really swing on something, rarely do you move anything... you just kind of hold on and let gravity and the pendulum motion do it's thing. It would probably be better to have it just use the pointer, you point where you want to web and **fwip** SWIIIIING!

@5, exactly what I have been thinking the whole time for different games, one control scheme for the wii remote/nunchuck and another control scheme for the gamecube/classic controllers, it would give games that don't have such a good remote/nunchuck play a chance.
