The deluge of e-books continues

Now that the e-book floodgates are open, there's no stemming the tide. And thanks to the wonders of homebrew, we can move beyond sci fi and onto some heavy-hitting literary classics. One intrepid fellow named Brandon is working to format literature that is in the public domain for use with Moonshell, a homebrew media viewer/player for the DS, and his Moonbooks library already boasts works from Edgar Allen Poe, Thomas Malory, and Dante Alighieri.
The Moonbooks Project also features a heartfelt plea for Nintendo to develop their own plain text viewer, and to capitalize on the capabilities of the DS. We approve -- the DS is great for more than just games.

Nintendo doesn't even need to make one of their own. Between the GBAMP (which as it turns out did not disappear with Lik Sang) and the M3, we have plenty of options open to anyone who wants to read on their GBA; don't laugh people, it's a perfectly legitimate use of a game devise.
For my everyday commute I use a GBA movie player http://movieadvance.com/ hooked into a GBAmicro. Sure the movie quality isn't that great (it's still easier to convert for a gbamp or M3 than it is for a psp) but for what I like to do while tolerating the subway (read and listen to music at the same time) it simplifies things quite nicely. For example instead of having a gba, mp3 player, and a book, I just have the gba with the movie player. That and when you have to hold on for dear life because the conductor is on crack, it's very convenient to only have to turn the page by pressing a botton.
The only thing the gbamp really needs is the ability to view pdf files. Some of my pdf eboooks won't allow me to scan the text and the gbamp only reads txt ebooks.
don't worry this isn't a "all I want for xmas is a gbamp" marketing scheme, I just really love how my gbamp has simplified and improved my hellish commute.
