It's goin' nowhere

We knew the straps were a little weak. This user decided to protect his loved ones and shiny TV set in the most authoritative way he knew how: chaining that wand to his wrist, nuclear-bomb-code-briefcase style. We ourselves have used thick shoelaces at parties to ensure ... ah ... inebriated members of the populace wouldn't deface and destroy; how about you guys? Come up with any creative solutions in the realm of protective measures?

controller gloves. you can get them for 8-10 bucks, and most of the time with your favorite nintendo character logo on them (mario, yoshi, princess peach, the triforce, and the crest logo's are all available)
and my hands never sweat. i havent played a minute without them.

grip tape is really tough on your hands, it is practically sand paper but maybe even more abrasive. also, it would leave a terrible residue.

The controller gloves work good, and the new wrist straps shipping from Nintendo are a lot thicker and supposedly sturdier. I say supposedly because I never had a problem with the old ones - don't know how people were breaking those things aside from taking scissors to them for some brief internet fame.

Yes. Not swinging it like a jackass. I've had over 40 people play on this system and not one accident.

Not creative. When I heard that Nintendo secretly replaced the replacement straps on their site I bought a few. They are pretty beefy and have laid to rest my fear of bowling my remote into my 37 inch HD LCD or beaming my wife or friends breaking the 40 dollar controller against the wall.

Ed, You have to be kidding. Sometimes I would spend a day skating after replacing the grip on the deck, by the end of the day the skin on my thumb and fingers was so raw it hurt to pick up the board.
It would not be pleasant at all to have on a controller, it would be like wrapping a sheet of coarse sand paper around it.

This will do very well for the current "training" period, while users learn how to HOLD A THING.
