Swedish man has appendix burst while waiting for Wii

A Swedish man who had worked very hard to make sure he was first in line had a bit of catastrophe strike him while waiting. Turns out, his appendix burst right there while waiting. After a 48 hour stay in the hospital, he was right back in line, the very first customer waiting out for his Wii.
The manager of the store, with his infinite kindness, held the gentleman's place in line for him. So, short stay in a warm hospital bed eating disgusting food, only to be discharged 48 hours later and assume his place back outside in the cold, cold line, his only company the other fanboys populating the line, eating greasy fried foods? Sounds like dedication to us, and that, we admire.

48 hours? I got my appendix removed last year BEFORE it burst and I was in the hospital for like three nights, plus couldn't really do much for a week or so after that. That dude is tough.
Also, (Trauma Center joke)

Go Sweden! Heja Sverige jag tänker däremot inte stå i kö för en Wii utan tänker gå lugnt och sansat i affären och köpa den på fredag (translation) I will not stand in line for a wii, I will go calm into one of my local game store and purchase my wii on friday afternoon.

Awesome. That's some top level gamer street cred as far as I'm concerned.
It's so close here in Australia too! 16 hours, 45 minutes.... SOOOOOOON! I believe Sweden's release falls on the same day as us, so that'll be about... hmmmm... 26 hours and 45 minutes. Hang in there guys - 1 day!
Holy crap I'm excited. Oh - wait - 16 hours, 42 minutes now... :D

"The manager of the store, with his infinite kindness, held the gentleman's place in line for him."
Like, stood in line in his place, or just told him he could have his place back once he gets back? While the latter is nice and all, the former would be awesome.

A bit out of topic.
But yeah, removing your appendix with open wound surgery kinda kills ya for a couple of weeks.
But if you get the other kind with robotics probing your body, 48 hours seems just about enough. You just feel sour for about a week really.

Sorry Mattias men du kan inte köpa Wii i affären på fredag för dom är slut sålda då. Om du inte förbokat eller står utanför affären ikväll så måste du vänta till Januari 2007. (Translation) Sorry Mattias but you cant purchase Wii in the stores on friday because all Wii´s are sold out. If you havent ordered it over internet you have to wait until Januari 2007.

Mattias, maybe you can get it somewhere else like Elgiganten and other stores who didn't supported pre-orders. But I think that the case is that you can't just go and pick it up 16:00 today you'll probably need to stand in the line before openings of the shops. Like everyone else dumb-nuts who didn't pre-ordered. XD Well time to take the bus to Stockholm and wait outside my "local" store. ciao!
