Updated Heroes trailer is no less bizarre than the last
Back in July, we posted a "leaked" trailer of Heroes for your viewing pleasure. The link has since been taken down, at the request of the publisher. At TGS, however, Suda 51's newest masterpiece was once again brought into the light. Anyone who's played their previous title, Killer 7, knows exactly how surrealistic these games can be, and this newer trailer does nothing but highlight the fact.Despite the "anybody pick up and play" design Nintendo seems to love so dearly, the Wii is accruing a rather impressive collection of extremely mature games. Between Heroes, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, Sadness, and the Orb/Thorn/Darkess combo from Crossbeam Studios, those of sounder mind and matter should be more than happy ... not to mention the ridiculous plethora of first-person shooters coming our way.

Well the trailer is the same one that was leaked ages ago but they changed the music (the original music was much better.) They also changed Travis Touchdown's voice which I prefered in the leaked trailer too.
Still I like the look of this game but i'd like to see some proper screen shots. Helter Skelter's shirt looks cool too :D

This game looks wicked awesome. Unless those are the final voices, in which case I might have to play it with the sound OFF.

You talk big, but your fine words and shining armor won't get you ANYWHERE.

It still seems like it's the premis of a fighting game, which I'm not really into. I love the art style though.

Probot, Killer 7 wasn't really a "fighting game", if that makes any difference - there was shooting, but the emphasis was definitely on puzzle solving. I'm not a big shooter fan either and I loved Killer 7.

Travis Touchdown, that name must have taken ages to think of, gee I wonder what his favoriate sport is.
At the begining the art style for Helter Skelter reminded me of the Ipod comercials.. except take away the guns

i was a big fan of killer7, and so i can't help but be excited for this as well!. however the voice work is horrible and makes me a little embarased just to be listening to it. but the voices in killer7 were done well so i have high hopes that heroes will come around in the end.

I had almost forgotten about this puppy. After watching this (I didn't see the 'leaked' version), I am gripped by an almost insufferable need to see some actual gameplay footage. Two wiimotes for Helter's two guns? Virtual swordplay with Travis? If I had a self-destruct mode, I'd have entered it by now.
P.S. For those of you complaining about the voice work: have you never heard a bad made-in-Japan english translation? Now, this could be exactly that, but I prefer to think that SUDA 51 intentionally chose to do it that way as a stylistic choice.
Momus @ Sep 26th 2006 6:54PM
It has become kind of a style, yeah.
Two things to think about: is Travis Touchdown the Travis from Killer7 before he's killed by Harman Smith?
Also: Travis Touchdown wears a Tokyo Mew Mew T-shirt. It was easier to make out in the original trailer, but it's there.
