TGS 2006: off-screen Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker footage

If there's one thing we'll say about Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker after having watched the embedded video is that this game is pretty. The graphics look excellent and following our first taste of the game in action, you may assume we are plenty intrigued.
As always, you'll have to continue into the post to check out the video.

I REALLY hope this one gets to the US (can't imagine it won't). Dare I say that this looks nearly as good as DQ VIII graphically/smoothness of framerate. Between Wii, DS, and GBA, SQUENIX will be making a fortune from my bank account this fall!

Wow, what great graphics for a game that seems like another Pokemon clone mixed with some Dragon Ball Z characters, and kic @$$ graphics which ='s a game I'll never get ^_^

So, the screen shots weren't lying--there really are no random battles in this game!
Thank goodness. If there was one thing that I couldn't stand about DQVIII, it was the high encounter rate. Random battles + High encounter rate = Utter frustration.

If there are no random battles, why don't they just fight it out on the regular world screen like in Chrono Trigger? Why the change to a default beach front battle setting with every encounter?
