Our first strike against PSP Fanboy was a complete success. But, while this battle is won, the war continues. If you're new to the "Great Portable War of 2006," here are a few links to catch you up (the bottom-line is that the PSP fanboys unleashed some anti-DS propaganda that we just can't let stand).
We expect retribution from the PSP "croud" at some point, but they've gone silent for now. So, naturally, we're going to kick them while they're down and are launching another salvo via the rebuttal video above. This entry was submitted by long-time fanboy, Covarr, and takes the same approach as yesterday's entry from TomBot. While it may look like more of the same on the surface, make sure you read all of the text. Hilarious stuff!

I'll never forget my first E3. I was sitting there, playing with a PSP, when out of nowhere a shark bit my leg off and bees stung my face unmercilessly.

I was tempted to do a commercial with a couple of poorly hand-drawn houseflies or something, being "gangsta", talking about topics like "But now there's portable crap!" and it would have ended with "PSP. Hells no". I decided against this, though, as my computer's microphone is really terrible.

Eh, the video itself was pretty lame, even with me being a DS fanboy =/. Some of the stabs it took actually weren't true. Like the Opera browser for the DS.. the PSP has one built in. If we're going to attack the PSP, we should atleast look at legitimate weak points. BOTH have our share of kiddy games, it made pretty weak comparisons. You could compare Metal Gear Portable Ops and Super Princess Peach. And "which allows you to play tic-tac-towe"... not gonna win over many fans with the radiating coolness there.
The attracting sharks and bees made me giggle though :)

kade and Ryan M, I think you're missing the point. I came up with the most obvious lies I could think of. The idea wasn't to actually win anybody over, the idea was to make fun of people who insist on making comparisons. I am quite capable of coming up with legitimate problems with either system. I chose not to in because I didn't want the video to be taken seriously.
I actually own both a DS and a PSP, and enjoy both a lot.

It's a conspiracy; aliens are out to abduct all videogame fans, and replace them with humourless robots! The few of us who enjoyed the laugh of this angle - WE'RE NEXT!
This stuff is friggin' hilarious, and such relief is much needed. By the way, my compliments to the author of this concept; Covarr, you've started a constructive movement, dude, good going! I like the positive ripples that these videos are causing on both the PSP and the NDS sides of the Joystiq network. It's always fun to be able to laugh at oneself, and the community of our handheld-of-choice.

Man, this made me laugh so much. Anyway, just like Ipsum, I was really surprised that there were some people who missed the joke. Again, this video isn't a real "rebuttal" video...but parodies the handheld war videos/arguments as a whole.
Covarr, you rock. I wish there were more people with such sophisticated humor.
