Children of Mana preview
The Mana tree has always been one of our favorite, er, trees and we are happy to see the series possibly lift back to what it once was after that mistake of a Legend of Mana game. Yes, we said it. Legend of Mana and all its Winnie the Pooh type environments rubbed us the wrong way.
Fortunately, Children of Mana, set to release October 30, is forming rather well. Or, we think it is based on what other journalists lucky enough to play it are telling us.
Being able to play with a friend via ad-hoc seems fun and we like the sound of investigative revenge streaming from broken-hearted orphans. Hopefully, Children of Mana will aid in healing the series.

It takes one's breath away, cool game.

Just make it anywhere near as fun as Secret of Mana, and I'm sold.

What?! Legend of Mana was an amazing game! It was part of that amazing year for Square--Chrono Cross, Threads of Fate, Legend of Mana.
If you guys want to find the bleeding gash in the series, I'd turn your attention to Sword of Mana, the Gameboy Advanced prequel. Someone needs to patch that up.

I'm with you #2. I loved Legend of Mana once through, and never touched it again. It was neat, but once was enough. Hopefully Children of Mana, and whatever they're calling the new PS2 game (Dawn of Mana, last I checked?) are in the same vain of the first three Seiken Densetsu games.

would I be tarred, feathered, and lynched if I said I was more excited about this than FFIII?
Well, I kind of am. Can't wait!
