First look at Battalion Wars 2

In this glorious wired age, a game is announced and several hours later, screenshots hit the Internet. Three online multiplayer modes (assault, skirmish, and cooperative) make this title exciting, but it's the screens that make it oh-so-pretty. Hopefully, more news will hit from LGC, where Battalion Wars 2 is apparently playable. We'll keep you posted.

i love the 'Wars' games so much i just crapped my pants.
...in several hours you should be able to smell it, through the internet.

I saw videos and read reviews for the original Battalion Wars, but I didn't end up buying it because of the cartoony characters and combat. It's not that I only like realistic games, but this was a little TOO cartoony. If it was done in the vein of the Advance Wars games (more anime-ish than cartoony), I would have given this title a second look.

Josh, I somewhat agree with you, i was put off by the look of the game in pictures, but the gameplay more than made up for it, and the style is closer than you think... while playing the cutscenes are the only thing that distracted my imagination from what i kept visualizing as the 3D version of advance wars vehicles... and it's great.
give it a second look, and try it out... unless this one is coming sooner than later, then i would just wait... but dont pass up on it a second time, especially if you like the GBA and DS versions.

I have to say, the Advance Wars series is brilliant, but I haven't tried Battalion Wars yet. It looks like fun, and my friends back home (away for university) and I are totally into tactical combat games like this. The Wi-Fi aspect of this game, therefore, is a big plus for me.

Battalion wars is really good fun, but too limited and short to be a great game. Worth buying second hand or something. From the look of it, the sequel is going to address every problem with the original: adding naval units, multiplayer, spawning.

I knew it would be called Battalion Wars ii or BWii. This game loos quite nice if it comes to my country I just may buy it.

the very game im waiting for that simple ww2 shooters are for shallow chavs this will do everything bw1 did and so much more on top rts/fps/nintendo magic all rolled into one CLASS

I agree with most of the above. I bought the original Battalion Wars when it came out, but (like many people) reckon it could have done with another 3 months... This is set to fix everything the first one didn't have. I'd advise buying the first one still (I can imagine it'll get really cheap now) but this could well be the real starting point for the franchise.
