Dead & Furious trailer fails to excite [Update]

This trailer for Dead & Furious honestly fails to cause any sort of excitement over here at the DS Fanboy offices, instead replacing what should be a mild build up of salivation around our mouths with sharp feelings of disdain for the title. With some abysmal graphics and gameplay that looks, honestly, boring, we're not too sure that Dead & Furious is so much, well...furious.
Dead though, we're sure of that.
[Update: The video has been removed from You Tube. Hope you were able to catch it in time!]

An FPS... without all that pesky aiming!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! WTH is that thing! Get a PSP!

"Get a PSP!"
A PSP plays games now?? I thought the PSP was only good for....ummmmmm.....uhh...hmmm. Well, the PSP is really shiny, so it's got that going for it.
Sinergy @ Jul 31st 2006 11:07AM
I think Zombies of the world should unite against this game.
Jason @ Jul 31st 2006 11:26AM
Didn't look too bad to me, except for that placeholder (I hope) gun! Man that was terrible. If that were replaced with something cool the game would like miles better.

I find it ironic that a site dedicated to the DS says the graphics aren't good enough, lol, Don't get me wrong I am in love with my DS but I didn't buy it for the eyecandy, I bought it for funcionality and fun, if the guy who wrote this wants pretty, get a PSP and watch a Final Fantasty Movie... you know, since there aren't actually games for a PSP... haha... sony...they suck...ha...

I don't know, thanks to Lumines, Hot Shots Golf, Valkarie Profile, and Tekken, I haven't touched my DS for a couple months now.
Vincent @ Jul 31st 2006 12:40PM
lol-the whole game is on rails and you can kill zombies even without aiming.

"7. I don't know, thanks to Lumines, Hot Shots Golf, Valkarie Profile, and Tekken, I haven't touched my DS for a couple months now."
Still waiting on those loading times?
Royall @ Jul 31st 2006 12:55PM
It's a work in progress, folks. It's not supposed to be a game yet. It's just there to show us what they have in mind and that they're actually developing it.
Erik Novak @ Jul 31st 2006 2:35PM
I've rarely had issue with loading times for PSP games, especially those four. Another PSP myth prepetuated by DS fanboys.

I love it how they manage to make a 3D doom clone that sucks more than the Fan made 3d Doom game...
and it looks like you've got a great shoot range there, the guy was like 6 feet off from a zombie and he still hit him.
Work in progress? maybe they shouldn't be showing us what they've done if it sucks this badly...
Nicholas Spicolas @ Jul 31st 2006 3:12PM
lollacaust, that looked horrible.
Andy J @ Jul 31st 2006 3:20PM
Any game that lets you practice killing zombies is a vital tool. When the zombies come, you'll be ready! Realistic games like this that will train you to shoot your zombie father in the face..

The music makes baby Geebuz cry.

Why are people loving on the PSP? Did you forget what blog you're on, or are you just Sony shills?
Keep on convincing yourself it's worth anything more than illegal emulation and awful homebrew games. I guess those 2 titles per year worth playing make it easier. Might get popularity points for taking such a trendy thing to school, too!
PSP&DS @ Jul 31st 2006 4:41PM
All the PSP hate. Many negative things said about the PSP are usually fictional spawned by people who haven't touched a PSP. I own both long enough to determine the pros and cons. Most negative remarks are by fanboys that own only a DS. Both are great together. Now I get the best games from both worlds. This game though doesn't look like the best from the DS's world though.

Sorry erik. My last comment was to be taken jokingly..
Mentioning PSP here sure does cause a spark.
renaldo @ Jul 31st 2006 7:47PM
WHY CAN'T WE BE FRIENDS AND JUST ACCEPT EACH SYSTEM WITH ITS FAULTS?
And that game looks cool. I'm an easy person to please as long as it involves zombies that look like Meat from Mortal Kombat.

"This video is no longer available"
I guess I didn't miss much other than PSP and DS fanboys hating on eachother.
asurroca @ Aug 1st 2006 9:02AM
Well the video for Dead & Furious is as dead as the game ISN'T furious... I guess I didn't miss much?

Hi this is Ben Yoris from Dream On Studio.
The video was actually an old one, a kind of prototype of what the game is now. I can confirm that the game is not an FPS, it's a rail shooter in the mood of the light-gun arcade games.
Since this video we have progressed in a lot of domains :
- the gun you're handling is moving according to where you shoot. There 4 different weapons throughout the game.
- we have several animations for each kind of enemy, according where you shoot on them
- we have some outdoor levels, some rides and 4 different environments
The "leaked" video was in fact a misunderstanding with our publisher, the correct trailer will be released somewhere in september, and we really hope at Dream On Studio that you will notice the difference!
In the meantime, we'd like to thank you for your interest in Dead'n'Furious. We're fans of arcade games and we're working hard to bring the ambiance to the DS.
Best,
Ben Yoris
