Sadness finds a publisher

We've been covering NIBRIS' Sadness for quite some time now. We like indie developers and wish for nothing but the best to happen in their endeavors. As such, we're extremely happy to report that NIBRIS has found a publisher for their game Sadness, however we aren't able to report on who that publisher is at this time. An NDA stands in the way of us and the valuable information we use for sustenance, so stay tuned for a future update revealing the publisher behind Sadness.

Does anyone have any idea what the hell this game is supposed to be about? Or even what genre it's supposed to be in? The developers have been a bit mysterioso.

Hopefully this means they'll actually do a little more than pure concept art for the title. While I love indie games... actions speak louder than words.

YES. Best news i have heard today. I have been rather hoping Nibris find a publisher for this title. Check out the site http://www.nibris.net/ and click on products.

When the Revolution was announced, Nintendo naysayers preemptively dismissed it as yet another platform oriented toward younger gamers. In the span of two weeks, however, that assumption has been proven wrong twofold. First came Ubisoft's announcement that it is working on Red Steel, an adult-oriented action game set in the modern Japanese underworld. Today came news of a second Revolution game that is definitely not for kids. Polish developer Nibris has announced that it is developing Sadness, a film noir-inspired game for the next-generation platform.

It's the Wii, not Revolution.
Sadness was announced before Red Steel.
Sadness was not announced today, it was announced a long time ago, way before E3.
Lastly, we've seen absolutely nothing about the game beyond what the company has told us. Considering that they have no previous games and the developers are completely unknown, I'm not gonna put much stock in the hype at this point.

#5: "Revolution" is the code name, so you technically can call it either one.
And isn't the Wii suppose to be "the perfect console for indie games"? Or so I've heard.

Actually "Revolution" was the development name. The console we now know and crave for is the Wii. The "Revolution" officially no longer exists.

If Nintendo's the publisher, that's great news for all.
Their standards make good games genre-busting amazing fests.

THANK GOD!!!! I bought the Wii for three reasons: bragging rights, Metroid Prime 3, and Sadness. Now that one is beaten and the other is dying down, it's a huge relief that a publisher (whoever it may be) has been produced. The Wii could reinvigorate the adventure genre like no other console. Indigo Prophecy, a great game showing how contextual movements improve the immersion factor, proves this. It's a shame that the gaming media, who constantly complain about stagnation in the games released, have not given more space in their (mostly paid for) pages to such a fresh take on the genre. New IPs do not necessarily translate to new ideas. Haze, Kane and Lynch, Army of Two, and even to some extent No More Heroes, are games that I feel I've played before. Tampon-bandaging does NOT constitute new gameplay. So, to anyone with authority over such matters, please at least get the word out on this game. With such a struggle the development has surely been, a little press (or more) would go a long way. And Ubisoft, you listening? Publishing this will clear the air of the stink caused by Red Steel and Far Cry (Wii).
