DS Lite overclocked
We can't imagine why kitora12 would ever want to go ahead and do this, but for reasons only known to him, he has gone and overclocked a DS Lite. You can find a plethora of pictures here documenting the process, whether they exist to prove legitimacy or as a tutorial, we cannot comment. Regardless, it's an impressive feat that this individual accomplished, although it must be said that we may never forgive him for taking a knife to such a beautiful object.
[Thanks Joey!]

That Super Mario Bros. theme at 1.7 speed was nice! I like that song faster cuz it reminds me of Super Mario Sunshine.
And Mario sounds like a mouse at 1.7 speed.

overclocking is suppose to reduce slowdown by processing more information quickly, not make everything go faster.

"Supposed"? ...

It depends on how the software bases the timing.

Sweet man, if I wasn't afraid to play real life trauma center with my DS lite, I'd give this mod a shot!
Seriously, 1.7 times faster sounds FUN.

fake. pay attention to his hands. they move around real fast.
Marc @ Jul 19th 2006 6:58AM
Thomas,
so basically your telling me that we can send a man to the moon, but we can't make a simple peice of hardware go a little bit faster?
And so what if his hands move fast? When I play a game, my hands move fast. It's called hand-eye coordination.

Nintendo. One small piece of aadvice. Contact this guy and use the technology for the inevitable F-Zero DS.

Proof that it is a fake video.
Watch carefully from 1:32 to 1:38.
It shakes heaps, here you can see that he was acting slowly for the recording (while moving the machine quite a bit) and then its sped up for playback.
Try to not be so gullible next time.
Yes, "I want to believe" too, but not that bad.

Gordo,
I do the same movements while turning on my DS. Not everyone has a dictator-like grasp on their DS like you do when you open it up. And I don't have a "set speed" when turing on a piece of hardware. And guess what....
No one does.
Why is it so hard for you people to just see it as plausible that this is real? What is so uncomprehensional that makes this video fake?
Why don't you skeptics just let this one go for once and get a real life, instead of studying a guy turn his DS on and off.

Those directions are hilariously bad. Japanese to English is always fun!

I have me suspicions on its veracity too..... yoshi declares himself to be mario, and, if i remember my mario 64 ds suspend mode right (I could be wrong)it gives you a menu before you go straight back in....
I know the mario soundbite bit could be wrong.
It also seems eminently controllable with the d-pad, whereas this was beyond difficult on the DS version i played....
mind you, why would overclocking be useful on a DS?
