Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! Getting! English! Release!?

Is Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! finally getting the localization a game of its musically deranged caliber
deserves? Siliconera points us to the delicious rumor that the rhythmic, cheerleading triumph of the human spirit
may very well make it to Western shores. According to a Jeux-France article, a Nintendo UK
official let it slip that Nintendo was considering releasing the game in Nintendogs-obsessed Europe. But why stop there? The Siliconera author also mentions another internet murmur, indicating that Atlus is looking to procure the game for US release. After experiencing their excellent localization of Trauma Center: Under the Knife, this almost sounded too good to be true. Sadly, after personally contacting and threatening an Atlus staff member, I discovered that it was.
"As awesome as the game is, unfortunately Atlus won't be bringing it to you."
Bummer. Still, there's a chance (however slight) that Nintendo themselves might deem the game worthy of a witty translation and unleash it upon the masses. If there's anything we've learned from Katamari Damacy, it's that "weird" third-party Japanese games have every chance of success in the US market. Well, that and how to roll up your neighbors into an ever-growing ball of random junk. It's hard to say which of those pieces of knowledge is more useful.

I dont know how they could release this here. They would have to change the Japanese dialogue thats woven into the anime comic pics. Not to mentionall the music would be changed which would mean all the beats you have to tap would be changed too.
Which would mean it's a totally different game...
Maybe they just want to use the game engine in an English styled game but it wouldnt Be OSU TATAKAE OUENDAN!!!

It's pretty popular now adays to keep the japanese music intact at the beginning of anime. I don't see why they couldn't do the same with games. Like DDR (I remember there being some japanese techno woven in the bad Captian Jack songs). Most manga keep the japanese text that isn't in chat boxes. All they do is put translations in the back of the book. All they'd really need to do is translate all the text that has any signfigance.

Even if it never comes state side, this is a MUST import game. Just watching the videos of it in action makes the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up!

This game is awesome. Ever since I got my copy yesterday, I haven't been able to put it down. Some of the songs are kinda hard, but that just makes you feel better when you beat them. Doesn't really even need a translation. It's easy to find the story mode and start playing. Plus there's a tutorial the first time you play, which can be accessed at any time later.
