LostMagic coming to DS
Ubisoft announced today
that it will publish a new RPG called LostMagic for the Nintendo DS. From the
article: "... gamers wield the handheld's stylus like a wand, using the touch-sensitive screen to 'draw' spells.
By etching out certain patterns, players will cast different in-game spells... [LostMagic] will also feature a Wi-Fi multiplayer mode..."The title is set for a Q2 release in both North America and Europe. But what if you suck at drawing?

"But what if you suck at drawing?"
Exactly my worries. D:

I read somewhere.... I can't remember where exactly, but I read that bad drawing skills aren't much of a problem, because the recognition AI is quite high...
so don't worry about your skills... I would worry about miscasting spells... casting the wrong spells (could happen if the game recognises your doodle as a different spell than the one you intended, I guess... ) ^_^
anyhoo... it's very much the same as in Castlevania... and that wasn't much of a problem either... methinks..

Chances are that this will work like Castlevania DoS. Granted you had to draw the little symbols, but the game was very forgiving about it. On top of that, even the most complex symbol was relatively easy to draw once you got the hang of it.
Hopefully this game will be about the same as far as forgiveness if you don't draw a perfect circle, or a wavy line isn't spot-on.

I really don't like the movement system in this game. You have to touch your character then touch the place you want to move to. In order to move again, you have to touch your character again and touch the ground again. The D-pad is used to scroll the map. There might be some options to change this behavior but I haven't bothered checking yet.
This game is WFC-playable, but is limited to a 'battle' and 'free battle' mode. I tried to search for players in both but nobody showed up after 5 minutes so I gave up.

trauma center: under the knife didnt seem that forgiving when using the stylus, but then again, you had someones life at the mercy of your stylus.
did i mention trauma center rocks?

I think the psp needs to regain the "lost magic" if you catch my drift

Well if you suck at drawing then maybe you shouldn't buy the game...
