Angry loon destroys his DS
If you can't stand seeing cruelty to electronics, you'd best look away now. Here we have a man claiming to be angry at his DS and, instead of selling it or getting some decent games for it (we might suggest Brain Age, in this case), chooses to destroy it in a completely unspectacular manner. Well, sir, you now have your fleeting moment of
[Thanks, nintendude!]

That guy is the biggest idiot I have seen in a long time.
The DS would probably still turn on though, and it would have fared better if it was closed!
Robert @ Feb 1st 2006 7:30PM
I bet 100 bux that he was scared to turn on the DS afterwards b/c he knew it would be functional and display "Still alive! Btw, nice car."
Something else tells me he needed a reason to buy a DSlite.
Moral of the story - You can't destroy Nintendo products.
Kellan @ Feb 1st 2006 7:35PM
I find it hilarious and a testament to how strong nintendo's products that being run over by a car only caused the hinge to break (due to it being opened up prior to being run over). The halves themselves show little damage. I'd like to have seen what would have happened if they left it closed. Perhaps it'd have been fine.
Mike @ Feb 1st 2006 7:36PM
Bet you $50 it still worked.
vc @ Feb 1st 2006 7:38PM
It was probably broken to begin with. Fake.
Splam @ Feb 1st 2006 7:44PM
Hmmm, run over it or sell it on ebay and get $$$... duh, let's run over it... uh duhr.
Edwin @ Feb 1st 2006 8:00PM
All this to show his patetic face on the internet ...
DynamicStability @ Feb 1st 2006 8:07PM
That wasn't his.... Who plays their DS enough to buy a Datel Battery pack (its on the back) and then destroys it...
AssemblyLineHuman @ Feb 1st 2006 8:11PM
Despite the fact that everyone's already said it, I bet it still works if you turn it on.
robotplague @ Feb 1st 2006 8:28PM
What a bunch of rebels!!! Go teen agnst!
garg @ Feb 1st 2006 8:34PM
I saw this a few days ago but this was so disturbing that I didn't show any one.
FlyingSquirrl @ Feb 1st 2006 9:09PM
Wow, DynamicStability, you're right -- there is a Datel battery pack on the back... maybe this guy just found it somewhere... or nicked it...?
Jerome @ Feb 1st 2006 9:44PM
that is a super cheap ass way to destoy a DS! That really sucks!
Come on guys show us some creativity!
Use a asphalt roller to roll over it or shot it whit a shotgun!
DSLOVER-PSP2 @ Feb 1st 2006 9:53PM
This should be posted on pspfanboy.com i bet they would love it! i know i would =D
piff @ Feb 1st 2006 10:12PM
it was probably already broken or he wouldnt have done it.
he didnt even do a good job. if your going to destroy something...do a good job of it..dont just run it over with a fucking car! that was gay.
Curtos @ Feb 1st 2006 10:38PM
What a loser. He really showed that DS what was up. No wonder he got mad at it, he was too stupid to figure out how to make it work.
Dan @ Feb 1st 2006 10:53PM
That was... uneventful.
"OWNED!...PWNED!!...f*ck you!..."
Alright...
MyBrainHurts @ Feb 1st 2006 11:00PM
Money is clearly no object for him. I mean he drives a 94 Caprice! That's what all the players drive. I mean look at those dubs! He probably burns DS's to light his cigars at the country club!
Neko Tsukimi @ Feb 2nd 2006 12:40AM
Yep... That video was teh suck... Even pounding it with a squeaky hammer would have been more destructive (well, maybe not) and amusing!
designerwhite @ Feb 2nd 2006 2:21AM
Didn't you guys get the memo about new guerilla marketing tactics?
This is Sony's next viral media campaign! (Graffiti and puppy kicking got old way too fast.)
LAME-O!! Is it that hard to get some decent explosives these days?
Tak @ Feb 2nd 2006 3:51AM
Maybe he was a victim of the notorious "DS Bricker" virus. His vocabulary seems to indicate that he's somewhat of a gaming geek.
I expect it still works though ;). I also expect he ran over it a few times before the camera started.
PodMonkeys @ Feb 2nd 2006 7:57AM
Snore!
TJ @ Feb 2nd 2006 10:07AM
Every system has that lol, even other electronics. Lately there's a lot of people destroying their ipod, psp, xbox, etc... now ds lol
JodyAnthony @ Feb 2nd 2006 11:15AM
lol I know lol. lol lol.
SuicideNinja @ Feb 2nd 2006 1:05PM
Well...there goes a perfectly good wireless controller for your PC...
Played some Emu's on the PC yesterday using the DS....it worked very well!
Andy J @ Feb 2nd 2006 1:11PM
This guy has never gotten laid
What a waste of everyones time!
mikemania @ Feb 2nd 2006 3:01PM
owned?? what does he want? The DS to run and get out of the way???
but really tho, if he missed the DS... owned!! pwned!!
and of course, if the battery exploded and hit his gas tank, damn, that would be hilarious. :D
GF @ Feb 2nd 2006 4:20PM
that was stupid, as everyone else said, I bet it still worked just the hinge was messed up.
I thought he was going to park on it them burn out right on top of it, or at least run over it several times. then that queer saying "owned" when it did'nt even looked that bad. those guys are idiots
Pheonix Gamma @ Feb 2nd 2006 4:30PM
That guy yelling "pwned" was about as cool as a bullet to the head. And the guy driving the car seems to have the maturity of a 10 year old, as there was a kid in elementary school who would say stupid shit like "this is pissing me off...so it must DIE"
Then he gets in his car, starts it, and, like the cool kid he is, rolls down his window to announce "it will DIE"
The DS didn't even seem to suffer much damage. Notice how the video ends before they try to turn it on. Lame.
I would have sold it on eBay or at some gaming store.
If you REALLY wanna kill a Nintendo product, at least make the video mildly funny.
Tom Boucher @ Feb 3rd 2006 10:44AM
I've been avoiding commenting on this but the more I think about it (gah what a waste of cycles) the more I can't help but think how stupid this is.
The camera man was trying to be cool, emphasis on trying.
Running over a tiny game player with a car isn't very original, but even worse backing out of your parking spot and then driving over it at a leisurely 5 MPH is even dumber. That's about as creative as hitting a empty pop can while driving to work.
While I'm not going to destroy my own stuff as most people pointed out there is always someone willing to buy it. I could think of a ton of more exciting things to do to it other than running over it once. It looked to me that other than snapping the hinge that it'd power back on and the screens didn't look cracked at all. That's a tough little booger. I don't think the PSP would have fared as well.
the shiz @ Feb 3rd 2006 6:27PM
OMG!! I can't believe he did that! OMGWTF! What a n00b!! I wanted to do it first!! Nintendo is dead, man. Oh, look, he's an idiot. He'd rather break his DS than sell it... The idiot is the one that buys that for money. I'd buy it for half a bean.
Sonic_13 @ Feb 5th 2006 4:00PM
Yeah, I would bet anything that the DS would still work if they tried to turn it on.
btw, what was the big black box that was stuck to the back of the DS? You can see it at the end when he turns it over (0:59).
