New Namco game all about lying and stealing
Oh dear, Mr. Thompson's going
to have a field day with this one. Namco's latest DS escapades have led them down the dark path of rampant
kleptomania and never-ending deceit, ultimately resulting in Kaito Rousseau, a game that shamelessly rewards
thievery and trains innocent children to trick authority figures. Good heavens, this is almost as morally reprehensible
as crushing your neighbors beneath a giant ball of random junk. The game has you helping out Rousseau, a sprightly young thief with an amusing knack for creating masks that allow him to blend in with the environment. As his partner in crime, it's up to you to make sure he doesn't get spotted by the countless inept guards that are known to patrol gaming's poorly lit corridors. You'll do this by drawing masks on the touch screen, artistically applying your stylus in order to recreate certain objects in the environment for Rousseau to inconspicuously hide behind. Because having your body stick out of a statue's deformed face isn't cause for any alarm, really.
Judging by the initial screenshots and the overall concept, it looks to be quite an inventive and amusing game. Hopefully Namco will see fit to localize it and allow us English-speaking mortals to engage in a little hide-'n-steal. Be sure to check out the screenshots for some examples of how the game works.

I also hope Namco will give us an english release for the game. It looks to be funny and innovative.
While I'm posting, what are stars for again? Arent they used to keep track of newspieces submitted? If so I should have three :P

On a side note, and while I'm blabbling about newspieces, I submitted a few days ago about firmware checker, I thought it would come in handy as a post for the Homebrew section of the website.
The firmware checker doesnt harm the DS at all, all you need to do is remove the DS game inserted while inside the pictochat. The DS will freeze and a color will show up. Depending on the color is the firmware version your NDS has.
Its handy to know in order to homebrew (and if you're simply curious, like me), to see which passme device is right for you.
